If you’re not eating fresh, local strawberries in the month of May, who even are you? Picked up these beauties up at my local farmer’s market on Saturday and by Monday there were barely any left.
Today’s Assembled Story: The Glory of Strawberries & Cream
The players:
- Strawberries from McGarrah Farms, Pea Ridge, AR via the Fayetteville (AR) Farmer’s Market
- Topping: SO Delicious Dairy-Free Coconut Cream
And, of course, I made shortcake the way my Mom always did – pie crust crumbled into the bottom of the bowl and topped with crushed strawberries and a creamy topping. Only I made mine with GF pie crust and dairy-free topping.
